  1. Ok, bought it. I ended up going with Amazon for a few reasons:

    1 – I have a Kindle, and buying from Amazon and having it automatically and wirelessly sent to my eReader is convenient;

    2 – To be fair, the difference in the percentages offered by Amazon and Smashwords wasn’t significant; and

    3 – Amazon is, of course, a much larger platform. I would think that increased sales there, as well as positive reviews, would help you far more than any other store.

    1. Excellent! And I like your rationale. Thank you very much for your support and for your blog post! I loved reading your review. I had actually updated the cover art for The Ravenous Flock since then, but it’s still pretty similar to the original. I was actually inspired by this cover art from Terry Brooks’ short story ( where it was all black and white. Thanks for being such an advocate of mine; it’s very motivating and lets me know that I’ve got a good thing going here. Please keep it up, and I hope you help me spread the word about The Soul Smith! 🙂

  2. Great news and congratulations.

    One question – between Smashwords and Amazon, any preference in terms of who you would rather I buy from (better percentage of the cut, etc.)?

    1. Good question. It looks like if you purchase direct from Smashwords (on their website) I will make the most money (79% of retail price). Amazon comes in 2nd place with 70%, and any of the other retailers such as iBooks, Kobo, B&N, etc. I will make 60% (because I used Smashwords as my ebook distributor to them). However, I would suggest that you purchase it from whoever can provide it to you for your preferred e-reader app/device (Note: Smashwords does offer it in all formats).

      And if you like it, please remember to write a review. 🙂
